The RENU Collection

'RENU our clothes, RENU ourselves, RENU our planet'

Prominent Europe have launched their first ever Renu collection in collaboration with the Itocho RENU project.

The Renu project is based on a unique technology that enables the recycling of old garments and textiles into new recycled polyester fibres. For more information on the RENU project please follow the link below.

The collection includes outerwear, tailoring, formal and casual shirts, jersey and chinos.

Key pieces include the Down Shacket; made from 100% RENU polyester. The down effect is achieved using an eco-down made up of fibres manufactured from recycled ocean plastics. These fibres are then 'blown' into the garment. The use of eco-down in the manufacture of this garment is an attempt to reduce the volume of micro fibres used in traditional manufacturing methods which are released into the water system when these traditional garments are cleaned.

The printed jersey pieces are made using a water-based ink which are much more eco-friendly. Water-based inks are solvent free and do not contain PVC, phthalates or toxic chemicals.

Other pieces include a Faux-Suede Jacket which is made from 100% recycled polyester fibres from recycled ocean plastics and a Washed Field Jacket which is made from a recycled cotton blend and has buttons made from recycled hemp fibres.

Eco - Layer:

For the SS20 season, we launched the 'Eco-Layer' collection to encourage and support retailers in exploring sustainable options for their collections.

The 24-piece own-label collection is being launched with a selection of tailoring, casual outerwear, shirting, chinos and t-shirts and is made up of the 'key' pieces every modern man should have in his wardrobe.

All of the items are available in fully sustainable fabrics, with fully sustainable trims. Many of the pieces in the Eco-Layer collection are made of 'repreve©' fabric, which is made up of recycled fibres made from plastic that has been collected from the Ocean.
